Spliits Veggie Crispbread

Spliits is a new brand in the Australian mainstream crispbread category, and Roma Foods’ first stand-alone brand. We were asked to create a brand that not only brings a healthier, plant-based offer to this category, but also offers product format innovation through its ability to be split in half for dipping.

We worked closely with the Roma Foods team to develop a brand strategy that captured the spirit of this innovative and unique new brand, focussing on its versatility and health benefits. The name Spliits, with two ‘i’s, is not only a clever way to capture the brand’s unique ‘split-ability’ but also easily ownable for Roma Foods.

We deliberately used less-cliched toppings and garnishes to whet consumers’ appetites and all the typography on pack has a loose, hand drawn quality to help promote this brand as a more natural and not over-produced product. With muted colours printed on a matt stock, Spliits also has a tactile quality that the garish, shiny main competitors lack.
